Sawasdee Thai Massage
A pre-existing business, I was asked by Sawasdee Thai Massage to redesign the logo and website by giving their brand a refresh so that it would reflect the tranquillity of their service. Starting with the logo, I was briefed to ensure their whole business name was clear. Further to this, their initial brief stated that they wanted their brand to 'reflect the tranquillity of their service'. As such, I wanted to keep the logo as simple as possible. I ensured the wording was of a clear font and added a simple lotus flower in two tone. As with the logo, the feeling of tranquillity was at the forefront of my design here. Having not been provided with a great deal of content, it was easy to ensure that tranquillity through a minimalist design. Keeping the page uncluttered and the font simple results in easy, relaxed viewing for the user. As with all of my projects, part of the service I offer is the writing of any informative text. With this client, however, the client had pre-existing descriptions of their services and company history. Due to the desired simplicity of the website and the pre-existing content, I was able to complete this complete brand refresh within 24 hours. Along with the re-branding, I also sorted out a new hosting plan for the clients as well as a new domain name. As a local business, SEO was important here and I ensured the business was as visible as possible using "Google My Business". Brand refreshing is always enjoyable; branding is so important so it's always such a great feeling knowing I've helped improve such an important aspect of a business. [Client Testimonial ★★★★★] "May of our local competitors had much better websites than ours so we knew we had to improve our look. Having initially just wanted a new website, when we saw Michael's previous work we saw the opportunity for him to refresh our brand as a whole. I'm so happy we decided to do that, it's changed the feel of our whole business! Further to the re-brand and new website, the SEO he did was so important. Now customers are able to search us on Google and our full business information is available at the top of the page straight away! As a difficult place to find, this has proved to be such large advantage we have over our competitors!"
Total Aircraft Support
A start up company, Total Aircraft Support (TAS), approached me with the brief of designing logo and accompanying simple yet informative website. Starting with the logo, I was briefed to ensure their whole business name was clear, along with making it obvious that they were operating within the aviation industry. Within a few hours, I had submitted three logos and their favourite, which was one that had replace the 'I' with an aircraft, had been chosen. The client has specifically requested the inclusion of a landing page for their website. A landing page is also know as a cover page and it's used to visually impress the user as they enter the website. With the landing page, I recognised the fact that it's important that the user was to immediately recognise that the website they had come to was the correct one. Centred on the foreground was the logo in a large size and in the background, a bed of clouds, a view of which might be similar to one a pilot might have. As with all of my projects, part of the service I offer is the writing of any informative text. With TAS, however, the client had pre-existing descriptions of their services and company history. As such, this project was completed in just two days. Along with the website design, all hosting, emails, SEO and domain name along with all other aspects which go hand in hand with developing a new website were managed by myself too. A simple yet professional looking website which serves its purpose well, it was an enjoyable project to work on. [Client Testimonial ★★★★★] "Although websites aren't a game changer in our industry, the website Michael has built from scratch is impressive, especially given how quickly it was done. A simple and clean, professional website was what we required and that's exactly what we got. What surpassed our expectations was Michael's great help in being able to set up our email accounts. As a startup, we had nothing to go on but we had everything set up to get us started straight away. I suppose the greatest compliment that can be paid here is that we are constantly asked by people in our industry who designed our website!"
Born to be a Florist
I was approached by Born to be a Florist and tasked with bringing their business online by designing a simple informative website with the addition of a contact form. Image may contain: flower, rose and illustration. As a florist website, the design of the website was centred around a floral theme. A pretty and flowing website, it was important to ensure that the website was not only aesthetically pleasing but informative too. An informative website should be just that. It's important to not draw the attention away from the information being provided. As such, the website isn't full of colours, it's not full of images nor is it full of unnecessary text. The website is primarily just of white and pink and it was ensured that the homepage is split in sections to differentiate between each type of information being provided. Within the brief, I was informed that one of the main purposes of the website was for the user to be able to contact Born to be a Florist. In order to push the website user to contacting the business, I presented a glowing review of the company along with an eye catching image above a button named "contact us now" in order to direct the customer towards the contact page. In order to gain the custom of the website users, Born to be a Florist discussed the matter of including testimonials. Not only did I agree that this was the right thing to be, I knew I'd be able to incorporate them into the website effectively. As previously mentioned, it was important to not draw the attention away from the informative text. As such, after a discussion with Born to be a Florist, it was decided that a new page would be created to showcase pictures of the florist's work. The client wished the user to be able to filter the different types of flower arrangements and this was implemented in a unique and responsive way which fitted in well with the overall feel of the website. As with all of my projects, part of the service I offer is the writing of any informative text. A small overview from Born to be a Florist of what they offer was enough for me to list and describe the services. Along with the website design, all hosting, emails, SEO and domain name along with all other aspects which go hand in hand with developing a new website were managed by myself too. For a client who had never had any online presence before, within the space of 3 days, they had, in their words, "the perfect website". [Client Testimonial ★★★★★] "I was a bit nervous using a freelancer from this website as I'd never done it before. Having looked at his profile, I was confident that he would be able to design a beautiful website and, as a florist, I know the importance of creating something visually beautiful. It took him three days and what he had produced was such a stunning website, I couldn't believe how lucky I'd been to pick him as my freelancer of choice! I now know I don't need to look any further than Michael for future projects, this is the perfect website. Not only is his work brilliant but so was the manner in which he did it, the speed in which he completed it and the ongoing ease of communication too!"
Premier Educational Supplies
Premier Services International (PSI), a pre-existing company, approached me with the task of creating a new trading arm which would bring their ability to sell educational products to the UK online. Having worked with this client on a previous and similar project, I jumped at the chance of working with them again. With complete trust from my client, due to my work on their previous project, I was given the full freedom of how to approach the creation of a new trading arm. Due to PSI's presence within their current industry, I identified it as important to ensure that their was a strong brand similarity between PSI and this new company. As such, I named the new trading arm Premier Educational Supplies (PES) and kept the logo as similar as possible. As with most eCommerce websites, the focus of the homepage was to push sales. As well as promoting certain products and categories, it was also important to showcase three of the main competitive advantages that PES has: order process, full quality control and a flexible delivery service. As a new trading arm, the company's primary objective was to lure customers away from a competitor. One way I decided to do this was to include an new customer offer of 10% off the order total for new customers, from there it was down to the company's quality of service to ensure the customer remained loyal. Unlike PSI where companies would usually have a predefined list of products, PES is a company which sets out its products to be attractive to customers in order to perhaps replace the inferior products which they were currently purchasing. In order to make the website as aesthetically pleasing as possible, I made the decision to create the website at full width with the products showcases with large pictures. As with all of my projects, part of the service I offer is the writing of any informative text. A small overview from PES of what they offer was enough for me to list and describe the services that they provide as well as writing their 'About Us' page. Along with the branding and website design, all hosting, emails, SEO and domain name along with all other aspects which go hand in hand with developing a new trading arm were managed by myself too. For a client who had tasked me to create a new trading arm from scratch, within the space of 14 days, had a fully functioning new trading arm. [Client Testimonial ★★★★★] "Michael has once again surpassed our expectations. Having previously worked with him, we had full confidence that Michael would be a great help in the creation of a new trading arm. Along with our experience of his web development skills, his education in entrepreneurship and degree level meant approaching him with this task was a no brainier for us. "Within the space of 14 days, our new trading arm was live and receiving orders. It was quite unbelievable that Michael was able to create a new line of business for us within such a short space of time. Thanks again, Michael!"
Premier Services International
I was approached by Premier Services International (PSI) in April 2019. Having been established in the year 2000, PSI had yet to bring their services online. I was tasked with bringing their branding and offerings to the modern day. Starting with the logo, I was briefed to ensure their whole business name was clear, along with making it obvious that they operated globally. Within a few hours, I had submitted three logos and their favourite, which surpassed their expectations, had been chosen. Image may contain: screenshot, abstract and internet Onto the website and and I was given a simple brief; ensure that the website was of corporate design, the catalogue of over 30000 catering products and over 50000 educational products is fully accessible and to ensure there is a quote request system in place. Well experienced in Wordpress and WooCommerce, I knew exactly how to approach this task with full confidence. A quick draft of the homepage and PSI's new branding identity was happily approved. Online catalogue The next stage was to create the online catalogue. Having been provided with a CSV file and its respective images, I was to transform the Excel spreadsheet into a fully functioning online catalogue. There were many formatting errors within the CSV file and images but, due to my experience in this area, I knew how to quickly rectify these errors. Within three working days, the catalogue was online and PSI were clearly very happy with the outcome! The most unique aspect of this project was the implementation of a quotation request system. Unlike most WooCommerce websites where the primary objective is to lead the customer to checkout, with this project, due to the nature of the industry's purchasing process, PSI wanted the customer to have the ability to send their 'basket' to the sales team in the form of a quotation request. After some discussion and a bit of coding, I had created a platform which allowed customers to send their quotation request and PSI's sales team to counter offer within the admin section of the website. At each stage, an email is sent to the customer informing them of an update with a PDF of the quotation attached and two links: 'Accept' or 'Reject'. The customer is also able to log in to their account and view their quotations and the stage they're at. This aspect of the project was completely new to me but PSI were thrilled with my execution and it has been a major success being the first of its kind in the industry. As with all of my projects, part of the service I offer is the writing of any informative text. A small overview from PSI of what they offer was enough for me to list and describe the services that they provide as well as writing their 'About Us' page. Along with the branding and website design, all hosting, emails, SEO and domain name along with all other aspects which go hand in hand with developing a new website were managed by myself too. For client who had never had any online presence before, within the space of 10 days, had the most advanced online system within their industry. [Client Testimonial ★★★★★] "Michael simply surpassed our expectations. When we approached him with the task of bringing our business online, we could never have imagined where we were just a fortnight later. His unbelievable ability to turn a small brief to a fully functional and perfect website is something that we were so pleased with throughout the whole process. "The quotation system he's put in place has proved to be a game changer for, not just us, but the industry as a whole. Such an innovative way of thinking is so unique to web designers - not only has he designed our website but he's also designed the way we do business. The fee we paid was so minimal compared to the amount of business he created for us and as a result of his innovative work, we offered him a 25% stake in our UK based catering equipment business."
