I was approached by Born to be a Florist and tasked with bringing their business online by designing a simple informative website with the addition of a contact form. Image may contain: flower, rose and illustration. As a florist website, the design of the website was centred around a floral theme. A pretty and flowing website, it was important to ensure that the website was not only aesthetically pleasing but informative too. An informative website should be just that. Its important to not draw the attention away from the information being provided. As such, the website isnt full of colours, its not full of images nor is it full of unnecessary text. The website is primarily just of white and pink and it was ensured that the homepage is split in sections to differentiate between each type of information being provided. Within the brief, I was informed that one of the main purposes of the website was for the user to be able to contact Born to be a Florist. In order to push the website user to contacting the business, I presented a glowing review of the company along with an eye catching image above a button named "contact us now" in order to direct the customer towards the contact page. In order to gain the custom of the website users, Born to be a Florist discussed the matter of including testimonials. Not only did I agree that this was the right thing to be, I knew Id be able to incorporate them into the website effectively. As previously mentioned, it was important to not draw the attention away from the informative text. As such, after a discussion with Born to be a Florist, it was decided that a new page would be created to showcase pictures of the florists work. The client wished the user to be able to filter the different types of flower arrangements and this was implemented in a unique and responsive way which fitted in well with the overall feel of the website. As with all of my projects, part of the service I offer is the writing of any informative text. A small overview from Born to be a Florist of what they offer was enough for me to list and describe the services. Along with the website design, all hosting, emails, SEO and domain name along with all other aspects which go hand in hand with developing a new website were managed by myself too.
