A start up company, Total Aircraft Support (TAS), approached me with the brief of designing logo and accompanying simple yet informative website. Starting with the logo, I was briefed to ensure their whole business name was clear, along with making it obvious that they were operating within the aviation industry. Within a few hours, I had submitted three logos and their favourite, which was one that had replace the I with an aircraft, had been chosen. The client has specifically requested the inclusion of a landing page for their website. A landing page is also know as a cover page and its used to visually impress the user as they enter the website. With the landing page, I recognised the fact that its important that the user was to immediately recognise that the website they had come to was the correct one. Centred on the foreground was the logo in a large size and in the background, a bed of clouds, a view of which might be similar to one a pilot might have. As with all of my projects, part of the service I offer is the writing of any informative text. With TAS, however, the client had pre existing descriptions of their services and company history. As such, this project was completed in just two days. Along with the website design, all hosting, emails, SEO and domain name along with all other aspects which go hand in hand with developing a new website were managed by myself too. Logo designs are similar to book designs but have different functions. Book design is an expression of the idea of the content whereas a logo is symbolic of a company.

I would very much love to work with aspiring writers. I would be quick to admit I am a science fiction fan. As a designer however I like to explore a variety of moods to capture the “feel” of the book.
